Environmental Science of Earth and Materials
To be in harmony with the environment and to establish the sustainable development of society, as well as safety and security in our lives, it is important to combat environmental issues through methods that achieve harmony between nature and artificial materials, as well as through efforts to co-exist with the environment through the development of new materials that possess environmental functions.
In the Environmental Science of Earth and Materials specialization, we work to resolve environmental issues by:
- Studying processes and dynamics related to the earth’s surface environment; regenerating the natural environment and how such environments change over time
- Developing materials and devices for converting and storing energy such as fuel cells and batteries, and
- Developing new materials that are friendly to the environment and restoring areas affected by pollution through materials science.
